Boxing Day Leather and Lace

Although Boxing Day is not really a "thing" in the US but it is another excuse to extend your holiday style - right? So, I am using this UK/Canadian holiday to wear this darling John Apperal Keera lace a-line skirt (here) I received as an X-mas gift. A lace a-line skirt is a timeless piece that can be dressed up or down for any occasion. Whether you pair it with a simple black silk top or cropped chunky knit turtleneck as I did here, a black lace skirt will be sure to make a statement. Accessorize with boots and a statement bag to complete the look. The lace detail will add an extra touch of cool and you will be ready to take on the day. So why not try out a lace a-line skirt this Boxing Day?

What to Wear Now

It’s that time of year when you have to switch up your wardrobe for the in-between season of Christmas and New Year’s. The key is finding a balance between festive and functional. I've put together some outfit ideas that will take you from Christmas to New Year’s with ease. Start with a black knit dress that can be dressed up or down. Add a classic a black bomber jacket for warmth and a casual edge to your look. Finish it off with a colorful tennis shoe or boot and top it off with a fun hat to add a festive touch - don't forget it's still the festive season!!. This combination of pieces will keep you warm and stylish as you celebrate the holidays and usher in the new year.

The Long Game Rhode Ella Dress

I first heard about the Rhode Ella dress from an Insta Influencer.  She had purchased a version of the Ella dress in several prints and has worn them over many summer seasons.  Gosh, I love it when a brand does repeat versions of clothing.  It hits all the long game notes for me! Although not cheap, consider it an investment piece. Or keep an eye out for it on SALE or checkout consignment websites like TheRealReal.com and Ebay.

Beach Babe

Spring Zing

It has been raining, cool, and quite dreary of late, so I took to a pair of metallic jeans to change the mood to add a little ZING to my day! It definitely worked.

Also, a little flower shopping brightens the day, as well.

The key to spring/summer metallic jeans is to keep them on the lighter side colorwise.  Adding a white cotton tunic or short-tiered dress will keep the feeling light.  I love my Malone Soulier flats here in light pink.

Stylingwise tip:  Try wearing short white or black cotton tiered dresses with jeans too. Changes the whole mood to a more casual look.

Marinière Sweater

A must-have for any wardrobe is a marinière sweater -it's the knitted wool cousin of the Breton shirt.

Fall Dressing

Been off the grid for obvious reasons. When I got this H&M A-line skirt delivered, I wondered could it shake me out of my funk.  Well, I am here to say indeed it did!
